An arrest warrant was issued Wednesday for a Broken Arrow man charged in Sequoyah County District Court in Sallisaw with soliciting sexual conduct or communication with a minor. Vian police reported Derek Thompson, 28, was charged after the mother of a 14-year-old girl reported on July 21 that a man was sending pornographic photos to the teen's cell phone. When interviewed by police on Aug. 7, the suspect denied the allegation, and said he had loaned his phone to a friend who must have sent the pictures but whose name he could not remember. Thompson told police he would contact them later with the name of the friend. The arrest warrant for Thompson carries a $10,000 bond. By Sally Maxwell, Senior News Director
