12-year-old Killed in ATV Crash

A 12-year-old boy was killed in an ATV crash Sunday in LeFlore County. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported Taylor Reed, 12, from Wewoka was transported from the crash by LeFlore County EMS to the Choctaw Nation Indian Hospital in Talihina where he was pronounced dead. The OHP said Reed was a passenger on a 2011 Polaris ATV, driven by an 11-year-old male. The OHP withheld the young driver's name. According to the report, the driver of the ATV looked to the rear to check on another vehicle, then left the road to the left, colliding with a ditch and rolling one and a half times before striking a tree. Both the driver and the passenger were ejected. The 11-year-old was also transported, by private vehicle, to the Choctaw Nation Indian Hospital where he was treated and released. The crash occurred at about 10:37 a.m. and was about two miles north and two miles east in LeFlore County. By Sally Maxwell, Senior News Director12-
