For those interested in running for rodeo queen at the upcoming Lions Club’s 77th annual rodeo there is a clinic planned for June 20 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Journey’s Banquet Room inside Rugers in downtown Sallisaw.
The rodeo is scheduled for Aug. 6-8 at the Sallisaw Rodeo Grounds.
The cost to attend the clinic is $30 and prospective contestants will learn all about basic rodeo queen instructions and guidelines and about creating an economical wardrobe, interview skills, speech and horsemanship. All ages are welcome. The clinic will be most beneficial to beginners just starting their rodeo queen career.
Clinic attendees will have the chance to meet the current titleholders, Miss Rodeo Sallisaw Ann Grue and Junior Miss Rodeo Sallisaw Jayden Noel.
