Roland’s police and fire departments are getting geared up for the holidays, with the annual “Shop with a Cop/Firefighter” day scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 14.
The event will begin at 7 a.m. Dec. 14 and will be capped off by Roland’s yearly Christmas parade at noon.
“This is our favorite time of the year,” Shelby Brown with the Roland Police Department said Tuesday. “The kids are sleepy at 7 a.m., but it’s all worth it,” she added. The event is for children 12 and under.
Applications for the shopping program are available now through Dec. 2, when they must be submitted at the RPD, 801 S. Roland Road.
Brown said that once all applications have been submitted, she will begin letting participants know they have been selected for the program.
