The 2019 Miss Carl Albert State College competition is set for November 21 at 7 P.M. in the Hamilton Auditorium on CASC’s Poteau campus. Community members may purchase a ticket to the event for $10; CASC students, faculty and staff members may purchase discounted tickets of $5, all seats are reserved.
Eight young ladies are set to compete for the crown:
- Larissa Deaton, sophomore Allied Health major, of Poteau will offer a vocal performance of ‘Out Here on My Own.’ Her social impact platform: Beautiful on the Inside.
- Marlene Miller, freshman Allied Health major, of Howe will perform a classical piano piece of ‘Fur Elise.’ Her social impact platform: Homelessness.
- Madeline Humphries, sophomore General Studies major, of Poteau will offer a vocal performance of ‘Someone You Loved.’ Her social impact platform: R.E.D. Remembering Everyone Deployed.
- Maci Crandell, a sophomore Allied Health major, of Poteau will offer a vocal performance of ‘Rise Up.’ Her social impact platform: ALICE Training – Active Shooter Response Training.
- Destiny Cothren, freshman General Studies major, of Bray-Doyle will perform a color guard routine. Her social impact platform: Animal Cruelty & Animal Shelters.
- Connie Gonzalez, sophomore Allied Health major, of Moyers will offer a vocal performance of ‘Scars to Your Beautiful.’ Her social impact platform: Self Love.
- Makayla Lopez, sophomore Criminal Justice major, of Greenwood, Ark. will offer a vocal performance of ‘La Vie En Rose.’ Her social impact platform: Save the Strays.
- Karlie Terrill, sophomore Education major, of Roland is set to perform a color guard routine. Her social impact platform: Suicide Prevention.
