A Sebastian County Detention Center inmate faces a charge of failure to comply with requirements of the sex offender registry, according to an affidavit.
Steven Lee Colley Jr., 45, re-registered with the program Sept. 19, stating that he would live in his car until he could find an address that wasn’t restricted. He was told by authorities that he would have to register as homeless every seven days until he found a place to live, but law enforcement officials haven’t heard from him since his release from the Sequoyah County Jail on Aug. 30.
The Sebastian County Detention Center’s records show an Alma, Ark., address for Colley.
The charge for failure to register as a sex offender is punishable by incarceration for up to five years, a fine of up to $5,000 or both.
Colley’s bond was set at $10,000, the Oct. 28 felony warrant states.
Records show that Colley was convicted of rape in September 2008 in Crawford County, Ark.
