Broadway Joe’s restaurant in Muldrow is hosting its annual free dinner on Thanksgiving Day.
The meal will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the restaurant, 313 W. Shawntel Smith Blvd.
The meal will include chicken and dressing, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, gravy, rolls, dessert and more.
Marina Morgan, the restaurant’s owner, said Monday that the meal is for anyone who wants to come in, whether they are rich or poor, in need or not. “This (meal) is the best day of the year,” she said. “It’s a lot of work, but if we serve just one person who wasn’t going to eat, that’s a good thing. It’s my goal.”
Morgan said the meal came about as a nod to her mother-in-law, Pauline Morgan, who instilled the importance of giving and helping others in her seven children.
Morgan said donations will be accepted that day but are not required. Money raised will go toward providing food for needy families at Christmas.
“We also take to-go orders,” Morgan said. For more information, call (918) 806-5304.
