The Sequoyah County Board of Commissioners discussed several items Monday at their weekly meeting.
Commissioners awarded a bid to Kirby Smith for the purchase of a double drum steel wheel roller for county District 1. They also approved a permit from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Tulsa District that will provide for gravel removal from the Illinois River for county District 2.
In other action, commissioners appointed Jill Larcade and Julia McGhee as requisitioning agents and Courtney Akles and Christina Gaytan as receiving agents for the Sequoyah County Health Department.
Commissioners unanimously approved a plan for the Sequoyah County Sheriff’s Department to apply for a Walmart Community Grant, which will allow the department to purchase toys for children.
The panel also approved a correctional communications services agreement by and between City Tele-Coin Company Inc. and the sheriff’s office. The agreement changes the service used by inmates to make telephone calls.
