One Injured in East Redwood Accident

A woman was injured and a gas meter was damaged Monday night when it was struck by a vehicle.
Sallisaw Fire Assistant Chief Steve Padgett said the department was called out around 10:35 p.m. Monday after Catherine Sanders went off the road on east Redwood near the creek bridge in her vehicle and hit the natural gas meter. Firefighters were able to shut off the gas line valve and no fire resulted from what gas did escape.

Sanders, who was alone in her vehicle, was transported by Pafford EMS to NHS Sequoyah in Sallisaw with arm and leg injuries.
