No one was injured when an RV caught fire at the Brushy Lake campground on Tuesday.
Sallisaw Fire Chief Anthony Armstrong said they received a call about 11:01 a.m. Tuesday to assist Marble City Volunteer Fire Department on a recreational vehicle fire at Brushy Lake.
When firefighters arrived, a 2005 Newmar motorhome was in flames, according to Armstrong. He said the owners had just got the RV set up and were getting ready to head into town for groceries and their pets when they noticed smoke inside the RV.
Armstrong said the RV was a total loss; the cause is yet undetermined.
“They (owners) mentioned it might have started around the refrigerator area, but we couldn’t determine it,” Armstrong said.
There were no injuries. The motorhome was insured.
