School Supplies to Be Given Away on Aug. 3

The annual Back-to-School School Supplies Giveaway, sponsored by area organizations, will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 3 at the Sallisaw Civic Center.

The school supplies are provided through the contributions of the Sallisaw Pastor’s Fellowship, area businesses, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, KiBois, People Inc., the Sallisaw Chamber of Commerce and Catholic Charities.

Families not able to afford supplies for their child or children should plan to attend. This is the only day free supplies will be given away.

Families must supply identification for all children receiving supplies, such as their Social Security cards. If someone other than the parent is picking up the supplies, they must have a letter from the parents and the child’s identification.

Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood (CDIB) cardholders will not receive supplies on Aug. 3. CDIB cardholders will receive their school supplies after school begins.

For more information on the program contact the Catholic Charities Helping Center in Sallisaw at 918-775-6111.
