The Garrison Creek Rodeo Arena is the place to go on Saturday, Sept. 5, with a March for the Kids parade and other events scheduled.
The parade, which will be from the stoplight at Simple Simon’s Pizza to Arvest Bank, will begin at 3 p.m., followed by a “Shodeo” at 5 p.m.
There will also be a horseshoe tournament called “Pitchin’ for the Kids” beginning at 5 p.m. For a $25 entry fee, two-man teams can play for added money and prizes.
A Kids Corral sponsored by Head Start Kids will also be set up, with all kinds of fun activities, including face-painting, stick horse race/contest and more.
At 7 p.m., guest speakers, including experts on child and human trafficking, law enforcement, clergy and others, will take the stage, followed by praise and worship music.
Vendors are welcome at the event, which is designed to bring awareness to child/human trafficking and to support local law enforcement, firefighters, emergency response teams and game wardens.
