Arkansas Woman, Roland Man Hurt in Crash


A Union Town, Ark. woman and her passenger were injured Thursday in a car accident on U.S. Highway 64 near Roland.

The driver, Destiny Bullington, 20, was transported by Pafford Ambulance Service to Baptist Health Center in Fort Smith. She was then transferred to Baptist Health Center in Little Rock, where she was admitted in guarded condition with head, arm, leg, internal and external trunk injuries.

Bullington’s passenger, Tanner Lewis, 21, of Roland was also transported to Baptist Health Center in Fort Smith with similar injuries.

According to the accident report, at 2:59 a.m. Thursday, a 2009 Chevrolet driven by Bullington was traveling westbound on Highway 64, about half a mile east of Roland, when the vehicle left the road and struck a bridge abutment.

Bullington was trapped in the wreckage for about 20 minutes before being freed by the Roland Fire Department using the Hurst Tool. Lewis was thrown from the vehicle in the crash.

Neither Bullington nor Lewis was wearing seat belts.
