A man convicted of indecent exposure in 2017 was charged Jan. 6 with possession of a firearm after former felony conviction.
Ward Woodard, 27, was arrested Dec. 30 after officers responded to a domestic incident at the home where he was staying.
At the home, Woodard’s grandmother told officers that the man had a gun in his possession and said it could be found in a camper on the property. The woman allowed officers to enter the camper to retrieve the Marlin 30-30 lever-action rifle, which was hidden under a mattress.
The penalty for weapons possession after conviction is imprisonment for up to 10 years.
Woodard was released on $10,000 bond.
