A “You Build It” construction team competition will be held Oct. 25 in the multi-purpose Room at Indian Capital Technology Center.
Registration for the competition will begin at 8:30 a.m. that day and winners will be announced at 1 p.m.
The event is open to all students in 6th-9th grades in Sequoyah County. Teams must be made up of at least two students, but no more than three can be on a single team.
The theme for the competition is Halloween/Fall and cash awards will go to the top three teams in each grade level. A free lunch will be provided.
Representatives from the construction trade industry will be on hand to meet with students about potential job opportunities.
Complete contest rules and materials will be delivered to sponsoring teachers upon contest registration.
The event is sponsored by Sallisaw Lumber, Firstar Bank, Arvest Bank, National Bank, Armstrong Bank and Walmart.
