One lane of Interstate 40, at the 317 mile marker, is blocked at 3 p.m. Tuesday as tow trucks remove a semi-tractor-trailer which burned Monday.
Steve Rutherford, Sequoyah County Emergency Management director, said no one was hurt in the fire, but moving the truck is taking some time. He asks motorists to be cautious, especially as rain continues to fall in the county.
Rutherford said that, as of Tuesday afternoon, there is no major flooding to report in the county. The road into Moffett however was flooded Tuesday morning.
“The road was closed this morning,” Rutherford said. “There were four cars flooded out.
“Just be cautious,” he advised.
