State Rep. John Bennett (R-Sallisaw) recently accepted the Oklahoma Sheriffs’ Association (OSA) Career Achievement Award, given for outstanding vision, dedication, leadership and commitment in supporting the sheriffs of Oklahoma. The award was given at the group’s annual awards’ banquet Aug. 10 in Oklahoma City.
“I am an advocate and supporter of all law enforcement and their families,” said Bennett. “I have great respect for all their sacrifices and hard duties they face on a daily basis to ensure our communities and state are safe. As the chairman of the House Public Safety Committee I was privileged to work with and support all of our law enforcement agencies in the state, and it was an honor.”
“I'm humbled and appreciative of the award from the OSA,” Bennett said.
