Brandon Leon Buckman, 38, of Vian was charged with felony child neglect in Muskogee County District Court after an infant child was found inside Buckman's vehicle while he ate inside El Chico Restaurant last week.
According to the affidavit filed with the charges Buckman's three week old infant was left in the vehicle on a day when temperatures reached 100 degrees. Officers were called after someone heard the child crying. Although some windows were down, it was still "hot inside the vehicle" according to the report.
Buckman was found inside the restaurant along with the infant's aunt and uncle. Buckman stated that he believed the other two individuals were going to bring the infant inside and when they didn't the baby was "out of sight, out of mind."
The baby was checked out by the Muskogee County EMS and found to be uninjured and was released back to the father.

I believe they had ordered food to go and were not eating in the restaurant.
