Donald Lee Blackbird, 59, of Vian has been indicted by a federal grand jury, accused of sexual abuse of a minor, attempted sexual abuse of a minor, and abusive sexual contact with a minor.
The Indictment alleges that between Dec. 31, 2014, and Dec. 31, 2015, the defendant engaged in a sexual act with . . . , a person who has attained the age of 12 years, but has not attained the age of 16 years and was at least four years younger than defendant, with an intent to arouse or gratify the sexual desire of any person. The crime is punishable by not more than 15 years imprisonment, a fine up to $250,000 or both.
The Indictment further alleges that on or about April 3, 2018, Blackbird engaged in sex with . . . , a person who has attained the age of 12 years, but has not attained the age of 16 years and was at least four years younger than defendant, punishable by not more than 15 years imprisonment, a fine up to $250,000s or both.
The Indictment further alleges that on or about April 3, 2018, Blackbird engaged in sexual contact with S.B., a person who has attained the age of 12 years. The crime is punishable by not more than two years imprisonment.
The charges arose from an investigation by the Cherokee Nation Marshal Service, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
