Fort Smith Woman in Hospital after Crash

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) reported a 54-year-old Fort Smith woman was in stable condition after a crash Thursday two miles east of Roland on U.S. Highway 64.

Rebecca Cooper was listed in stable condition with head injuries at Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith.

The OHP reported Cooper drove off the road first to the left, struck a guard rail, then drove off the road to the right and struck another guard rail, then ran across the road through oncoming traffic and struck a third guard rail before coming to a stop.

Cooper was not wearing a seat belt, the OHP reported.
