The 2020 Census is underway and is ready for Americans to respond. Invitations began arriving March 12 and are expected to continue arriving until Friday, March 20. Residents should plan to include everyone they expect to live in their homes on April 1.
The U.S. Census Bureau continues to carefully monitor the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and follow the guidance of federal, state and local health authorities. The bureau is adjusting some operations with two key principles in mind: protecting the health and safety of Census staff and the public, and fulfilling our statutory requirement to deliver the 2020 Census counts on schedule.
Beginning Thursday, in support of guidance on what we can all do to help slow the spread of coronavirus, 2020 Census field operations will be suspended for two weeks until Wednesday, April 1.
