Man Sought in Gore Assault and Battery

An arrest warrant was issued March 3 for a Gore man who allegedly attacked a man inside a parked car.

Tyler Wilson Hediger, 31, is facing a charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in the State Penitentiary or one year in the county jail.

According to a police report, on Feb. 25, a Gore police officer received information from the Warner Police Department about a subject who was stabbed in Gore.

A statement from the alleged victim, Victor Ferguson, said that he took Hediger to a local nursing home to visit with Hediger’s former girlfriend. When the pair arrived at the nursing home, the girlfriend got into the vehicle’s back seat along with Hediger.

Shortly afterward, Hediger and the girlfriend began arguing. Ferguson exited the vehicle to allow the couple some privacy, and a few minutes later, he heard banging in the car and Hediger began yelling at him to get back in the vehicle.

When Ferguson got back in, Hediger allegedly began hitting him. Hediger then reportedly stabbed Ferguson on his left hand. While Ferguson was putting pressure on the wound, Hediger told him he was “lucky he missed my throat,” the statement concludes.

On Feb. 26, the Gore police officer went to the girlfriend's residence to get her statement. She told the officer that Hediger picked up a knife and jabbed it at Ferguson’s throat. She grabbed Hediger’s hand, pulling the knife away from Ferguson. She said she believes that if she hadn’t moved Hediger’s hand, Ferguson “would not be here today.”
