A Vian man was injured Thursday, Nov. 15, after a vehicle struck him as a pedestrian.
Myron Collins, 58, of Vian, was struck by a 2010 Mazda sedan, driven by Gloria Nichols, 19, of Van Buren.
The accident occurred at approximately 4 p.m. Thursday on a county road four miles north of Vian in Sequoyah County, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Nichols was southbound on the county road, and was apparently distracted by a dog in the cab of the vehicle, and struck Collins.
Collins was admitted to Sparks Hospital in Fort Smith in stable condition with leg injuries. Nichols was not injured in the accident.
The exact cause of the collision is still under investigation.
