Catholic Charities Seeking Turkey Donations

The Catholic Charities Helping Center in Sallisaw is asking for the community’s help in collecting turkeys for area families for holiday dinners.

Becky Martin Ritchie, coordinator of the Sallisaw Helping Center, said the organization is hoping to get turkeys soon to be able to distribute some for Thanksgiving. Residents, businesses and organizations may also donate holiday dinner sides and desserts as well, “all the holiday meal fixins,” she added.

Ritchie said although the Helping Center partners with the Pastor’s Fellowship to provide holiday meals, the organization needs some 50 to 70 additional turkeys to be able to carry them through the holiday season.

If you or your business, church or organization would like to donate, donations may be dropped off at the Helping Center, 409 N. Adams in Sallisaw, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday through Dec. 13. For information, call the Helping Center at 918-775-6111.
