The U.S. Senate confirmed Brian Kuester as U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Oklahoma on Sept. 14.
The confirmation was by unanimous consent, that is without objection and without a roll call vote.
Kuester is the district attorney for Sequoyah, Wagoner, Cherokee and Adair counties. Kuester replaces former U.S. Attorney Mark Green, who is originally from Sallisaw, and who resigned from the post on March 10.
The Eastern U.S. District Court of Oklahoma is in Muskogee.
President Donald Trump is expected to sign the confirmation this week.
