Parlor Owner Pleads Not Guilty

The case against a Roland woman, charged with prostitution and other violations, has been placed on Associate District Judge Kyle Waters disposition docket for 9 a.m. Sept. 20. 

Qing Chang, 48, entered a not guilty plea to the charges, filed on July 25 after she was arrested at her place of business, a massage parlor in Roland.

An arrest warrant was issued for her co-defendant, Shen Luyun, 30, who did not appear for her arraignment on Wednesday.

Chang is charged with violation of an Oklahoma statute via computer pandering and maintaining a premises for prostitution. Luyun is charged with violation of an Oklahoma statute via computer and engaging in prostitution. Both women were charged July 25.

They were both released on $5,000 bonds each on July 24. 

They were arrested July 19 at China Doll Massage in Roland during an investigation by the Sequoyah County Sheriff’s Department and the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs (OBNDD). The OBNDD has been working on human trafficking in the state, and was called in to assist the sheriff’s department, said Sheriff Larry Lane.

Lane said the investigation was prompted by residents and Roland businesses who complained to the Roland Police Department, which requested the aid of the sheriff.

During the investigation an undercover officer was sent into the business, and when prostitution activity was offered sent out a code word to call other officers in to make the arrest.
