Sallisaw Police Seek Information on Hit-and-Run

Sallisaw police are asking anyone who saw or witnessed a hit-and-run Wednesday morning, on north Maple Street, to contact the Sallisaw Police Department with the information.

Police Chief Terry Franklin said the male victim, who was cutting weeds along the highway, did not see the vehicle that hit him.

“We are working on the case,” Franklin said.

The phone number to contact with information is 918-775-4177.

Sallisaw Fire Chief Anthony Armstrong, who was one of the first on the scene as a First Responder, said the victim, who appeared to be in his 40s, told emergency workers that a vehicle clipped him and threw him down a hill. The victim was complaining of back, hip and leg pain, and was transported by Pafford EMS to a Fort Smith hospital.
