Murder Suspects Court Dates Reset

The court dates for three Webbers Falls men, charged with murder, have been reset.

A court official said the disposition docket appearances for Michael Anthony Snelling, 22, Charles Blake Shamblin, 25, and Tyler Paul Leverett, 22, which were originally scheduled for last Wednesday, were continued because Associate District Judge Kyle Waters was involved in a trial and unavailable.

Snelling and Shamblin are both charged with first-degree murder and Leverett is charged with second-degree murder.

Shamblin’s and Snelling’s disposition docket appearances were reset for Oct. 26 subject to change. Leverett’s court date was reset for Sept. 21.

The charges relate to the disappearance of another Webbers Falls man whose body has not been found—Matthew Scott Fagan. Fagan was last seen at about 3:30 p.m. on June 21 at the Buzzard Roost Hiking Trail at Lake Tenkiller. The three suspects told investigators that Fagan was killed, but Shamblin says Snelling killed Fagan and Snelling said Shamblin killed Fagan.

Sheriff Ron Lockhart said all three remain in the Sequoyah County Jail in Sallisaw while the search for Fagan’s body and the investigation continue.
