Bokoshe Man, Woman Hospitalized


A Bokoshe man and woman were hospitalized Sunday following a one-vehicle crash at 6:25 p.m. on a LeFlore County country road four miles north of Bokoshe. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported Christopher Dietrich, 42, was driving a 1999 Chevrolet south when he ran off the road to the left and struck a ditch The vehicle also struck an unoccupied parked vehicle and then over turned one half times onto its top. The vehicle then went into a broad slide and struck a rock mail box. Dieterich was ejected about 15 feet. A passenger, Sarah Jones, 31, of Bokoshe was also injured. Dieterich was transported by Leflore County EMS to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa where he was listed in stable condition with head and trunk internal injuries. Jones was transported by LeFlore County EMS to Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith and was listed in stable condition with arm, trunk and internal injuries. The OHP reported only Jones was wearing a seat belt, and the vehicle's airbags did not deploy. By Sally Maxwell, Senior News Director
