A peaceful protest picnic will be held from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Anna Farmer gazebo park near the railroad tracks in downtown Vian.
Participants are asked to bring any supplies for the group such as water, Gatorade, masks, signs, snacks, sunscreen, bug spray, hand sanitizer, first aid supplies, trash bags, etc.
Organizers are also providing some of these things, as well as blank signs and paint for those who want to make their own signs.
Participants are urged to stay out of the road, stay on the sidewalks and to not litter.
“Please keep this protest peaceful and leave the area cleaner than you found it. This is very important for the safety of the protesters and the environment,” stated organizers.
