Farmers and Ranchers Eligible for Corona Virus Funds

As of last week farmers and ranchers are eligible to apply for the USDA's Corona Virus Assistance Program. The program is designed to provide direct payments to offset impacts from the corona virus pandemic.

Scott Biggs, State Executive Director for the Oklahoma Farm Service Agency said, "We know Oklahoma producers are facing a tough time now and we are making every effort to provide much needed support as quickly as possible."

Applications will be accepted through August 28, 2020. Producers will receive 80 percent of their maximum payment upon application approval with the remaining portion to be paid at a later date.

Farmers will be paid on crop loss while ranchers are paid on a per head basis.

The application and a payment calculator are available online at www.farmer.gov/cfap. Producers can call their local Farm Service Agency office for more information.
