Schools Set Summer Meal Programs

Some area schools have announced plans to provide meals for their students throughout the summer.

Sallisaw Public Schools has started its summer meal program for children under the age of 18. Meals are being distributed at Liberty Elementary, Mon-Fri, 11:30-12:30 through July 10. There will be no eating allowed on the school grounds due to COVID-19 restrictions. Participants are asked to pull up behind the cafeteria and stay in their vehicle. If on foot, please be sure to practice social distancing as much as possible. Lunches will be handed out by cafeteria staff. No one will be allowed inside the cafeteria or other school buildings. Restrooms will not be available.

Muldrow Public Schools will offer its summer breakfast and lunch program, which will be free for anyone 18 and younger, from June 1-30. Pickup will be from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays.

Vian Public Schools has announced that buses will no longer be delivering meals on routes. Instead, meals will be provided as “pickup only” through June 30. The school will continue to provide meals on Mondays and Wednesdays for the entire week.

The week of June 8 will be the last week Webbers Falls Schools will be offering meals for students.
