The Sallisaw Youth League is gearing up to start summer baseball after a meeting Tuesday with city staff.
Eric Carter, president of the youth league, said Tuesday that practice will begin Monday, May 18, and practices will have to adhere to a strict schedule.
Carter said there will be a coaches’ meeting Thursday or Friday, when rules and regulations will be spelled out for them.
Spectators will be very limited, Carter said. He urged people to follow guidelines given by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Gov. Kevin Stitt, including social distancing, wearing masks and more. Carter said the bleachers at the Sports Complex will be roped off so people can’t gather there. Spectators are asked to bring their own chairs.
Carter said sanitizing procedures will be completed every hour just to make sure everyone stays safe.
