A seized cellular telephone revealed a treasure trove of drug evidence for officers with the Sallisaw Police Department.
According to police reports, arrest warrants were issued April 29 for five people who each face a charge of unlawful use of a communication facility to facilitate the crime of distribution of narcotic drugs.
Michael Shawn Pettit, 44, of Marble City; and Kellee Manda, 53; Marlina Dawn Hardbarger, 44; Dale Roy Legg Jr., 50; and Brenda M. Ellis, 72, all of Sallisaw are facing fines of up to $5,000 and/or imprisonment for up to five years on the felony charges.
Earlier on April 24, SPD officers arrested Pettit and seized his cellular phone. After obtaining a search warrant for the phone detective discovered multiple conversations between Pettit and the other individuals which involved purchasing drugs, selling drugs and other similar issues.
