Over 500 high school seniors attended the annual Carl Albert State College (CASC) Senior Day in Poteau. In addition to other activities on campus, a drawing at the event awarded scholarships from the CASC Foundation to two students in attendance.
Elizabeth Blake from Roland received a $1,000 scholarship and a $500 scholarship went to Samantha Couch from Poteau. The scholarships were presented by CASC Development Foundation Executive Director Mandy Roberts.
Information regarding academics, enrollment, financial aid, and student activities was provided along with entertainment by the CASC New Horizon Show Choir.
CASC Vice President for Enrollment Jennifer Humphreys stated, “We were pleased with the event. We changed a few things up this year, and it seemed to go very well. We had lunch for our guests along with CASC students and employees at the Dunlop Oval, and owe special thanks to Central National Bank for helping out with lunch.”
Students were provided time to meet with faculty members to ask specific questions, and everyone in attendance received a CASC shirt.
Humphreys said, “In addition to activities for the visiting high school students, we offered some extra sessions for the high school counselors in attendance to show our appreciation for all they do. Thanks to everyone who helped make this a special day at CASC!”
