A 32-year-old Muldrow man was arrested Monday for altering a prescription and attempting to obtain a controlled dangerous substance by fraud, Sallisaw Police Chief Terry Franklin reported.
Micah Don Rowland is accused of altering a prescription from 60 pills to 160 pills, and trying to get the prescription filled at a medical clinic on Carson Road.
Franklin said, “With the ongoing epidemic of opiate abuse this is a very common call that Sallisaw officers respond too. The charges are severe and persons arrested for this face up to 10 years in prison. The Sallisaw Police Department will continue to combat this epidemic and urge pharmacies to report anything suspicious about hand-written prescriptions.”
The Sallisaw Police Department is equipped with a drop box for the disposal medications. The box is located in the lobby of the Sallisaw Police Department.
