James Christopher Cooke, 38, of Muldrow was sentenced this week in U.S. Federal Court in Muskogee to 97 months in prison, followed by 60 months of supervised release, for possession of material involving the sexual exploitation of minors. The charges resulted from an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Cooke was indicted in March and pleaded guilty in June. The indictment alleged Cooke had or attempted to possess the materials, via interstate commerce by computer, between September and December 2012, and offered them over the Internet. Cooke will remain in the custody of the U.S. Marshal Service pending transportation to a federal prison.
