A Friends of the Library organizational meeting will be held at Stanley Tubbs Memorial Library in Sallisaw at 6 p.m. Thursday to discuss re-organizing the friends group. Carrol Copeland, president of the library's advisory board, said friends groups help libraries in many ways and with many chores such as fundraising, straightening books in the stacks and even with landscaping. Copeland said he hopes that a good group of volunteers can be organized so that the various chores can be shared and no one person is required to do all the work. He concluded, "The main purpose is to raise funds and to promote the library."
