Six people were arrested late Thursday evening in connection with the June 29, 2014 armed robbery of Freddy's One Stop Convenience Store in Moffett. (Pictured above is a camera shot of the robbery as caught on security cameras.) A 17 year old juvenile male was arrested in Sequoyah County for armed robbery, possession of a firearm in commission of a felony, and destroying evidence, according to Sequoyah County Sheriff Ron Lockhart. Three unnamed additional subjects were also arrested in Sequoyah County for aiding and abetting after they attempted to hide the juvenile after learning of the existence of the felony warrants.
Two additional adults, Edward Farrell Nicol, 51 and Patricia Nicol, 45, were also arrested in Fort Smith, Arkansas Thursday evening in connection to the case. They were arrested on Sequoyah County warrants for accessory after the fact, destroying evidence and obstructing an officer. The couple assisted the juvenile by sending the vehicle believed to be used in the robbery to another state. The vehicle had been caught on camera and profiled on news outlets. After seeing the vehicle that authorities were searching for they had the truck moved out of state within two days, stated Lockhart.
Investigators worked several weeks on the case. The juvenile is being held in a juvenile detention center and the two adults are being held in the Sebastian County Jail awaiting extradition to Sequoyah County.
