Barrick Named to Cherokee Gaming Commission

The Cherokee Nation Tribal Council appointed Steven Barrick of Gore to the Cherokee Nation Gaming Commission at the council meeting Monday. Barrick graduated from Northeastern State University with a bachelor's degree and a master of education. He has more than 20 years of administrative experience in the Gore and Roland public systems.

The council also appointed three health executives to the Cherokee Health Partners board. Cherokee Nation Health Services Executive Director Connie Davis, Medical Director Roger Montgomery, and Chief Executive Officer of W.W. Hastings Hospital Brian Hail from Cherokee Nation will join two Tahlequah City Hospital officials as board members.

Principal Chief Bill John Baker was appointed as a tribal delegate to the National Congress of American Indians. The next tribal council meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Oct. 13 at the W.W. Keeler Complex in Tahlequah.
