Authorities Search for Escaped Inmate

According to authorities an inmate who escaped Tuesday night from the Jim Hamilton Correctional Center in LeFlore County could still be in northeastern Oklahoma. Deputies stated that Forrest Thomas Devitt was reported missing from the correctional facility after a head count on Tuesday night.

Devitt is considered "armed and dangerous". He was serving a 10-year-sentence for armed robbery in Tulsa County.

Devitt, 22, is described as a white male weighing 134 pounds,  standing 5' 9" tall with brown hair and eyes. He reportedly has a tattoo of a snowman on his left arm and "6-4-69" tattooed on his right arm.

Devitt is believed to be heading toward the town of Hodgen. Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Devitt is urged to contact the LeFlore County Sheriff's Department at (918)647-2317.
