Carl Albert State College's first annual Walk a Mile in HER Shoes is scheduled for October 29 in downtown Sallisaw. According to Dr. Kathy Harrell, CASC Vice President in Sallisaw, the event will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. "This walk will feature men marching to focus on the importance of stopping rape, sexual assault and gender violence. We are pleased to be part of the walk, and want to use this to remind society that this violence is unacceptable." She continued, "The walk will be a fun way to make a strong public statement regarding putting a stop to this violence." To make the walk a bit more exciting, participants will be wearing high heels to truly "Walk in her Shoes." Registration is available online at http://eventbrite.com and search Keyword: Sallisaw-Walk A Mile in Her shoes. Registration is also available at the Sallisaw or Poteau campus business offices, and Carl Albert State College students participating are given a discount on the registration fee by showing a current student ID.
