Ricky Dority, 56, formally of Muldrow, was extradited today from the Bureau of Federal Prisons in Texarkana, Texas to answer to murder charges stemming from the 1997 homicide of Mitchell Nixon. Nixon was found deceased at Tower Estates located east of Sallisaw. Co-defendant, Rex Robbins, was arrested last year after the case was reopened by the Sequoyah County Sheriff's Department, the OSBI, and the District 27 District Attorney's Office, according to Sequoyah County Sheriff Ron Lockhart.
Dority has been in federal prison for the last 15 years for weapon charges. Dority was arraigned Tuesday and is currently being held in the Sequoyah County Detention Center stated Lockhart.
