The SHED Reopens as Youth Hangout

It won’t be long until teenagers in the area will have a new place to hang out.

The SHED, downtown at the corner of Elm and Cherokee, will reopen this Sunday for the first hangout of KG Youth.

Joshua Rogers is spearheading the effort to provide a safe place for younger generations to hang out with pool tables, foosball tables, ping pong, sitting areas, video games, snacks and more. Rogers said this ministry will be a HUGE outreach that will reach many teens in the area.

“It’s a place for them to come in off the streets or out of their situations at home and be safe somewhere,” Rogers said, adding that the service is provided free of charge to youth in grades 7-12.

He said the SHED still needs a few items, like furniture, games, ping pong paddles and balls. Anyone interested in making a tax-deductible donation is asked to contact Rogers at 918-774-7443.

The SHED will be open from 6 to 9 p.m. Sundays at 100 E. Cherokee Ave.
