Sallisaw Woman Injured in Accident


A Sallisaw woman was injured in a single vehicle accident Tuesday morning near Sallisaw.

Lori Wigert, 59, of Sallisaw, was driving a 2018 Dodge Journey northbound on U.S. 59, eight miles north of Sallisaw, at approximately 7:44 a.m. Tuesday when she was passing several vehicles, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

Wigert’s vehicle left the roadway to the right and came back across the roadway, striking a guard rail.

She was transported to NHS Sequoyah and was admitted in stable condition for back injuries, according to the OHP. It is unknown if seatbelts were in use.

The Stilwell Fire Department, Rocky Point Fire Department and Pafford EMS assisted OHP at the scene.
