Sallisaw FOP Coat Drive Helps Area Children Stay Warm

Staying warm during the winter months is something we often take for granted.

The Sallisaw Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 148 wants children in the area to stay nice and toasty during this winter weather season by hosting a Coats for Kids drive.

Mark Rutherford, with the Sallisaw FOP, said the organization wanted to be able to help the most children possible.

“We wanted to start a drive of some kind where the kids benefited,” said Rutherford. “We wanted to give something where the kids gain something out of it.”

Area residents can help by dropping off new or gently used coats at any area sponsor. The Mix 105.1 is proud to be one of the drop-off locations for those new or gently used coats. They can be dropped off at the station, 333 S. Kerr Blvd., from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Other drop-off locations are Sallisaw Tag Agency, Shelter Insurance Agency, ABC Cleaners, Zzoom Bail Bonds, Sallisaw City Hall and Sallisaw Fire Department.

For information or if you would like a drop box at your location, call Rutherford at 918-208-8026.
