Cameraman Brian Boone filming at Ruger's Grill.
The Discover Oklahoma crew was in Sallisaw this week, sampling the menu of Ruger’s Grill, which will be featured in one of the upcoming travel show’s episodes.
Tana Pace, (above, center) owner of Ruger’s Grill, said Discover Oklahoma host Dino Lalli (above, left) and cameraman Brian Boone (above, right) stopped by the restaurant Monday while in southeastern Oklahoma.
“They had called me about a month ago, but had to reschedule,” said Pace.
The pair ordered ribeye steak, grilled shrimp and an omelet, then also had some homemade onion rings and homemade desserts.
“They tried a little bit of everything,” Pace explained, adding that Lalli and Boone wanted a good sampling of the menu. “They really liked it. They were really impressed.”
Pace said the crew stayed at the restaurant for at least three hours.
“We just had a blast,” she said. “It was an honor for sure. We were really humbled."
Lalli told Pace the episode should air sometime in late December or early January.
Discover Oklahoma is a weekly TV program about locations to visit in Oklahoma, produced by the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department. It airs on Saturdays at 6:30 p.m. on KTUL Channel 8 in Tulsa.
