Randon Lowe
Randon Lowe, a Sallisaw native, was voted in as the new Sallisaw High School head football coach during the regular school board meeting held on Monday night.
Lowe received three votes in favor from board members Frank Sullivan III, Justin McGrew, and Mike Daffin, voting no was Bobby Qualls, abstaining was Amanda Hatcher.
The last two years Lowe has been an offensive analyst for North Texas University. In 2014 he was at Bacone College as the offensive coordinator. He was also in Roland in 2015 as the Offensive Coordinator.
Lowe has also coached at Locust Grove, Stilwell and Muskogee.
The Sallisaw head coaching position was left vacant after Scott Bethel resigned from the position.
School board member Justin McGrew stated, "We appreciate all the hard work that's gone into the Black Diamond program over the years and we've achieved a lot of success over the years. We are placing our faith in Randon to continue that success and tradition."
