Muldrow Officer Riley Brooks confiscated over five pounds
of marijuana after a traffic stop early Friday.
Two young men, believed to be from Georgia and who told police they were on their way back to Georgia, were arrested at about 2:30 a.m. Friday, after five pounds and 12 ounces of marijuana was found in their car.
Muldrow Police Chief George Lawson said Muldrow Officer Riley Brooks does not usually patrol on Interstate 40 but was making a loop along the interstate when he saw and stopped the speeding vehicle.
“He smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle,” Lawson said, and that led to the search of the car.
The names of the two young men, ages 18 and 19, had not been released Friday morning.
Lawson said the two suspects were held at Muldrow until they bonded out.
