Tenkiller Camping Sites Closed

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reports that several camping sites at Lake Tenkiller are closed due to high water.

Those sites are:

-Pettit Bay I - Boat Ramp

-Elk Creek - Campsites 30 - 42, Boat Ramp

-Cookson Bend Public Use Area - Lower loop sites 29 - 50 and Boat Ramp in Area I

-Chicken Creek - Lower area of the First-come-First Served sites

-Snake Creek - Boat Ramp area I and Sites 19 - 44 (Lower loop area I)

-The lower road in Cookson Area II by the boat ramp is closed but the ramp is still open.

-Strayhorn Landing Day Use Boat Ramp.

Those who have a camping reservation that is affected will be given a full refund, which can take 4-6 weeks to process. Please be patient as rangers and staff are performing flood duties.

The corps asks users to please use caution if you must get out on the lakes as numerous hazards may be just below the surface of the water.
